Bust traffic congestion: Help Toronto raise more than half a billion dollars for transit!

(Credit: wyliepoon via Flickr)

Toronto needs more public transit. But how do we pay for it? Levy a modest charge on commercial parking lot owners and a small toll on highways.

A levy of $1.50 a day per commercial parking spot and a highway toll of 10 cents per kilometre could raise more than $500 million a year for the City of Toronto. That money could help run more buses and streetcars, clean the air and finally get the city moving!

But these good ideas only work if City Hall decision-makers support them.

Please take a moment to ask Mayor Tory and your city councillor to back a parking levy and a highway toll.

Thank you!
