More and more studies are showing that the soaps, shampoos, creams, toothpastes, and deodorants we use every day contain harmful chemicals. These include ingredients with suspected links to environmental and health problems such as cancer, reproductive disorders, asthma, and severe allergies.
Chemicals that may harm human health or the environment do not belong in products we use on our bodies and rinse down the drain.
The European Union is phasing out the use of chemicals that are suspected human carcinogens, reproductive toxins, or mutagens in personal care products. Canada needs to follow its lead and strengthen its own regulations on chemicals in cosmetics.
Send Canada’s Health Minister a letter telling her you support stronger regulation of chemicals in cosmetics.
